Having pretty much run out of photographs I have turned to another idea. I know that there are many out there that either did not buy a Yearbook or over the years it has been damaged or lost. As well the only Athletics pictures that I posted were the boys (Well we were boys) sports. It would be an injustice to leave out the girls athletics because they also played an important role in school life.

A special thought for one girl who dominated the face of Girl's Athletics and is in so many photos, Debbie Sluce. Rest in Peace Deb, I will always remember how you used to kick my butt in 21 those many days in the gym.
Honourable mention to Cheryl Mangolt wherever she may be.

And can you remember everyone in your Homeroom Class? Well you can now as I have posted the class pictures from the 1969 - 170 school year.

Perhaps I will continue and do the next two years. We'll see.

I too completely agree with the comments made by Kathy Pidgeon & Kathleen McCartney. I just wish that more people from the early days had attended. Mind you the turnout was more than could be expected.

There has to be a way to have another one within the next 5 years as by that time the graduating classes from the very first Grade 9 classes should be collecting Canada Pension, never mind that us "First Day" people will be counting the Old Age Supplement.

For Kathleen you appear in some of the scans I just posted.

It is funny now to look at the signatures you collected in your yearbook back then. With that in mind Mrs. Cameron would you ask Randy ( I would say your "Better Half but that is obviously you) who Hagis McBagpipe is?

Hi all. I realize that I should have posted a note sooner, but I really had not made my way around this site before. I had checked the alumni, but that was basically it.
It's funny, but I had a hard time remembering everyone. Some faces were so familiar, yet others seem to be people I did not know.
I was so pleased to see Mr Ford there. He brought back all the memories for me, from Applewood S.S, and then of course, GFSS.There were a few teachers I would have liked to have seen, for instance, Sue Coed. I would love to know what she is doing now in her retirement. She was very special to me, and was such a tremendous role model as well.
Malcolm, if you are out there, would you e-mail me please, cause I'm on a new computer, and I am renewing all my addresses as they come in. I am so illiterate with this stupid box with keys, I think I need to go back to school and learn how to use the damn thing.Well take care everyone, and hopefully we can have another reunion of sorts, before the 50th, when we can still get around and see, and walk.

To Paul  regarding inquiry about the sign...

Fundraising is slow.  Maybe the alumni should think about organizing a fundraising event.  ;)

Greetings to all 1983/1984 graduates!

Does anyone know where Ellen Mizun is? Any chance of passing on her contact details or even tell her I'm looking for her and tell her I'm on this site and facebook?

Thanks in anticipation!

Anybody know what happened to the Phys. Ed teachers, Miss Sue Coad and Miss Rowland (think she got married and became Mrs. Hannah, not sure of her name but I know a few of us crashed her wedding!!).  Both had an extremely positive impact on me and would love to know where or how they are...

Goodness so many years have gone by since we opened Glenforest back in 69 and after reading the Message Forum the memories have come flooding back. While its hard to believe I remember each and every student who attended my geography classes and especially those who made the incredible trips to New York City. It was indeed a highlight of my time at Glenforest and will never be forgotten. I look forward to attending the 50th-God willing of course. It would be wonderful to hear from any of my students who happen to read this message.  Ron McCleary.

It really is wonderful to have this site to play a little "catch-up" on. I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get copies of yearbooks from the early years (through '74). Our old house here in Windsor was struck by lightning a couple of summers back, there was a fire on the third floor and the firemen destroyed all of my yearbooks with the water in putting out the blaze (along with ceilings and floors all the way to the basement. Renovations (and improvements) are almost complete, but it won't bring my yearbooks back!

For anyone who knew her; I only just now received the news that Lynda Ballick (Aldridge) passed away on December 27th, 2014 in Owen Sound, ON at the age of 59. This is indeed sad news for me as she was a dear friend and a delighful person. The obit can be seen at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home site in Owen Sound.

I think all of us from that very first grade nine class at Glen Forest knew Linda. Pat and I had looked for her at the reunions over the years but never connected. I would have liked to attend the funneral for her. She was a great person and will be missed.

Marg, Sue, Ed and Andy - glad you saw this and good to have a wee bit of contact after Lo! these many years. I didn't find out about Lynda's passing until a couple of weeks after the fact, sadly. Maybe I'll get a chance to see everyone again at the next reunion? I was planning on attending the last one, but ended up with a gig conflict I couldn't get out of. Life....

I know I've been AWOL for decades, and probably none of you remember me because I was fairly quiet, but my brother told me about Lynda Ballick's death, and it ruined my week and I felt I had to comment.  I lost touch with her decades ago, literally when she went to France and I was starting at U of T Engineering,  but we hung out a lot in grade 13 and that summer, which is weird since she was kind of artsie and music-y, and I was kind of boring and sciency and sporty (but not "cool" sports, just running and swimming).  She basically helped me pass English, have fun in French,  and made school much more fun and interesting for me. She went to work at Mr. Paterson's (our French teacher) hotel in Niagara on the Lake the summer of 1974, and I visited her there a few times. And sadly Mr. P died not many years after he retired. I liked him too. Good guy. Anyway, she was a lot of fun, kind, worldly (I loved the "I went to Paris for the weekend and I ran out of money and had to mooch some from strangers to get back to the airport" stories since her dad worked for an airline and she was pretty fearless about global travel, especially for a teenager). The world is a little bit less bright now that she is gone. I regret not having stayed in touch, but life moves on, gets busy,  and we didn't have the internet to make things easier to stay in contact. Anyway, probably TMI. I will miss you Lynda, you were a good person.

To Marg (Vann)

Yes it was the Oboe I played,  I didn't touch one since High School.  However,  As a Cadet Instructor, I get to instruct Cadet Marching bands and my Wife Also does the same  You may remember her, She Played Clarinet in the band  Mary Kocevar.  We have now been married for almost 40 years.  We have had lots of fun with Music,  I had the opportunity of meeting with Ozzie before he passed away and ws happy to thank him for the knowledge he instilled in us.  not only in Music but Life in general.

Keep in touch  ANDY
