For anyone who knew her; I only just now received the news that Lynda Ballick (Aldridge) passed away on December 27th, 2014 in Owen Sound, ON at the age of 59. This is indeed sad news for me as she was a dear friend and a delighful person. The obit can be seen at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home site in Owen Sound.

I have many wonderful memories of Linda Ballick. She and I played in the french horn section of Mr. Brezdan's orchestra. She was the much better horn player than I ever was. She took it more seriously than I ever did. Linda was always ready to lend a helping hand, which she extended to me often. And I needed it, because I sucked at playing french horn,
I only joined the orchestra because you had to join if you wanted to play in the jazz band - which I did. I was more passionate about playing jazz bass than I was about anything else.
The other thing I remember about Linda is that she was always smiling. A very nice girl who I am happy to remember fondly and call a good friend.
