I will always remember Mr. Reynolds for wearing his toga to ancient history class, and for wanting to meet a girl named Ariadne. I hope he did. A very imaginative man. I wish we'd had the vision then to admire him for it, but I suspect as teenagers we all just thought he was weird. Rest in peace.
Steve Reynolds was a caring and very intelligent member of the History Department during my stay there as department head. He had a wealth of teaching strategies I was glad to copy despite having more teaching experience. The students loved him as they sensed he cared about them as persons and strove to make their stay in his class interesting.
He seemed to be "up"and happy as much as any teacher I meet. He was a great team member in the department. I miss him.
